Digital Devices

Using digital devices and online services for educational purposes

At Cammeray Public School, we embrace the use of digital devices and online services for educational purposes. This approach includes utilising digital devices to structure learning, enhance engagement, foster independent learning, support diverse learners and interests, and encourage collaboration and problem-solving. We also prioritise guiding students to become responsible digital citizens by promoting respectful, responsible, and safe online behaviour.

Mobile Phones and Smart Watches

In alignment with our school policy and Department guidelines, the use of mobile phones is not permitted during school hours. Students are required to keep their mobile phones switched off and stored securely in their bags throughout the school day to minimise distractions and promote a focused learning environment.

Smart watches are permitted in school but must be set to ‘school mode’. In this mode, smart watches should only be able to display the time and track steps walked. Students must not use their smart watches for any form of communication, including receiving messages or making calls. Additionally, taking pictures or videos with smart watches is strictly prohibited.
